Server Administrator is responsible for overseeing the development, installation, and maintenance of servers and related components. He must have a strong understanding of server hardware and software, as well as networking and storage infrastructure. They must be able to coordinate and manage server resources, troubleshoot and resolve server issues, and ensure the security and reliability of the server environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, install, and maintain servers and related components
• Configure and manage server resources, including CPU, RAM, disk space, and network bandwidth
• Monitor server performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve server issues
• Administer server security measures to prevent unauthorized access
• Research and recommend server hardware and software upgrades
• Investigate server problems and take necessary corrective action
• Develop and maintain server documentation and inventory
• Stay up to date with server technologies and security best practices
• Provide technical support to other departments
• Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access control
• Manage server backup and disaster recovery plans
• Create and maintain detailed system logs and reports
• Assist in the development and implementation of server policies and procedures
