Roles & Responsibilities:
- Sample Collection: Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples from patients at their homes or designated locations, following established protocols and safety guidelines. Collect other types of samples as required, such as urine or saliva.
- Equipment Preparation: Ensure all necessary phlebotomy equipment is prepared and ready for use, including needles, tubes, collection containers, and other relevant supplies. Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment.
- Patient Interaction: Interact with patients in a professional and empathetic manner, providing clear instructions and answering any questions or concerns they may have. Ensure patient comfort and safety during sample collection procedures.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label and organize collected samples to maintain accurate records and prevent any mix-ups or contamination. Follow proper handling and storage procedures to preserve sample integrity during transportation.
- Transportation: Safely and securely transport collected samples to the designated laboratory or testing facility within the specified time frame. Adhere to transportation regulations and handle samples according to established protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately record and maintain records of all collected samples, including patient information, date, time, and any additional relevant details. Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient data.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to minimize the risk of contamination or injury during sample collection and transportation. Follow all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including privacy and data protection.
- Time Management: Efficiently plan and manage routes to optimize sample collection and transportation, ensuring samples reach the laboratory within the required time for accurate analysis. Maintain communication with the laboratory and coordinate sample pickups effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional certification or training in phlebotomy is preferred.
- Phlebotomy Skills: Proficient in venipuncture and sample collection techniques, with a strong understanding of blood collection procedures and safety measures
- Experience: 1-5 years
